Comparative Morphological, Anatomical and Physiological Analyses Explain the Difference of Wounding-Induced Agarwood Formation between Ordinary Agarwood Nongrafted Plants and Five Grafted Qi-Nan Clones (Aquilaria sinensis)

چکیده
Agarwood is the dark resinous heartwood of injured ordinary Aquilaria sinensis (OA). Recently, some new clones A. (Qi-Nan) that intensively produce high-quality agarwood were selected and cultivated by grafted clonal seedlings. However, very little known about their formation mechanism, it unclear whether current method distinguishing Qi-Nan from OA observing its leaf apparent morphology scientifically reliable. In this study, differences between in correlation with morphological, anatomical physiological characteristics investigated two types trees. After mechanical injury, yield essential oil content significantly higher than OA. There was no significant difference shape parameters OA, but showed specific weight, total chlorophyll, nitrogen net photosynthetic rate. A xylem analysis had smaller vessel wall thickness, greater ray cell thickness larger interxylary phloem area Moreover, a consumption non-structural carbohydrates positive correlations capacity, cell, area, starch utilization rate trees, negative brief, has stronger basis to supply more carbon sources, efficient structural for production source rate, leading content. It not reliable distinguish simply morphology.

Agarwood, a highly precious non-timber fragrant wood of Aquilaria spp. (Thymelaeaceae), has been widely used in traditional medicine, religious rites, and cultural activities. Due to the inflated demanding and depleted natural resources, the yields of agarwood collected from the wild are shrinking, and the price is constantly rising, which restricts agarwood scientific research and wide applica...

Agarwood is the fragrant resin-infused wood derived from the wounded trees of Aquilaria species. It is a valuable non-timber forest product used in fragrances and as medicine. Reforestation for Aquilaria trees in combination with artificial agarwood-inducing methods serves as a way to supply agarwood and conserve of wild Aquilaria stock. However, the existing agarwood-inducing methods produce p...

The composition and antimicrobial activity of the essential oils which were obtained from agarwood originated from Aquilaria sinensis (Lour.) Gilg stimulated by the chemical method (S1) were characterized, taking wild agarwood (S2) and healthy trees (S3) respectively as the positive and negative controls. The chemical composition of S1 was investigated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (G...
متن کاملProfiling of MicroRNAs under Wound Treatment in Aquilaria sinensis to Identify Possible MicroRNAs Involved in Agarwood Formation
Agarwood, a kind of highly valued non-timber product across Asia, is formed only when its resource trees--the endangered genus Aquilaria are wounded or infected by some microbes. To promote the efficiency of agarwood production and protect the wild resource of Aquilaria species, we urgently need to reveal the regulation mechanism of agarwood formation. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a group of gene exp...
